Have you ever wanted to show someone at a remote location a presentation or how to perform certain functions on a computer? Well now you can with GoToMeeeting. GoToMeeting is a software program that can be downloaded and installed on any Windows or Mac operating system. Now, it isn’t free, but they do have a 30 day free trial period where you can determine if this software is useful enough to purchase.
Once you have downloaded and installed the program now you have to setup a meeting. Open up your web browser and navigate to the webpage setup by GoToMeeting. Once you have logged into your account, you will be presented with a screen where you can select the name of the meeting, time, duration, information, and also who is invited into the meeting. Once the meeting has been created, all the necessary information to join the meeting will be sent to the invitees via email. The email will contain the date, time, a hyperlink to the website, password information, and also any audio phone numbers. It will also setup a meeting reminder in the users outlook calendar with a reminder so they don’t forget.
When the time of the meeting arrives all the users will click on the hyperlink, log into the meeting, and wait for everyone to arrive including the host. The host is the person who controls how the software works during the presentation. The host can be the presenter or they can allow another member of the meeting to be the presenter. The entire presentation can also be recorded and replayed at a later time. For those users on the go, there are applications that work on the Ipad and some phones.
I hope this was useful. If you have comments, please let me know.
